What is the opportunity?

This role will lead and manage a team of accounting and finance professionals in the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team under Enterprise Finance, in the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to the Banks external and internal stakeholders, as well as key regulators. As the Senior Director, Financial and Regulatory Reporting, you will be a strategic and forward-thinking leader within the wider Enterprise Finance team, empowering and enabling the vision and future of the CFO Group. The successful candidate will deliver on this using thought leadership, creativity, and innovation to drive excellence, create efficiencies, enrich insights and analysis, and enhance the Banks internal control environment and governance activities. The candidate will also help drive key initiatives and transformation programs forward, identifying opportunities for end-to-end process excellence, whilst meeting the changing external and regulatory reporting landscape and requirements.

What will you do?

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for enterprise financial and regulatory reporting, setting the tone and direction, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback to direct reports as well as effective succession planning.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance on the coordination, preparation, and reconciliation of financial statement disclosures, board materials and/or regulatory returns at the enterprise or legal entity level in accordance with timelines for monthly, quarterly and year end deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for initiatives and proactively identify issues and initiate projects to improve processes both tactically and strategically.
  • Accountable for the overall quality of data analysis applying best practices to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of our external financial disclosures.
  • Ensure accuracy, validity, and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet organizational, industry, and governmental regulatory requirements.
  • Partner and interact with internal and external auditors to ensure comprehension and compliance with policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Maintain and enhance the controls and governance practices and overall internal control environment related to the Banks financial and regulatory reporting mandates.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Professional Accounting or Finance Designation (e.g., Chartered Professional Accountant).
  • 10+ years of experience in a financial accounting or financial reporting role, preferably in the financial services or professional accounting services industries, including people management experience with a team of 5+ team members.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial accounting/reporting standards and regulatory requirements, as well as good business and accounting/finance acumen.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with ability to empower and motivate teams.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with a strategic and forward-thinking mindset.
  • Strong project and relationship management skills demonstrating impact and influence with senior management and key stakeholders.
