What is the opportunity?

As an expert advisor, you proactively provide advice and enable Senior and Mid-Market Commercial Markets clients to leverage RBCs cash management solutions, taking responsibility for clients onboarding, activation and ongoing adoption of digital solutions. Many of these clients are the largest and most complex clients within Commercial Financial Services (CFS) and as such need elevated discovery and ongoing education/knowledge sharing around payments/modernization, fraud etc. You develop and deliver on business priorities and improve the client experience through execution of sales plans to acquire new clients and recommend appropriate treasury services to existing clients. You also provide focused financial advice and solutions to meet the clients business and financial goals, while partnering with the SCM and MM CRT and other colleagues across RBC Financial Group to drive client loyalty and build long-term profitable client relationships.

What will you do?

  • Lead with a growth mindset, focusing on whats possible to maximize client acquisition, growth and an exceptional client experience
  • Act as the single point of contact throughout the cash management end-to-end onboarding process, partner with the relationship team and follow up with clients to ensure an exceptional client experience
  • Demonstrate digital IQ by building awareness and encouraging clients to fully leverage digital solutions on an ongoing basis to optimize their businesss operations
  • Deliver financial and business Insight advice through a differentiated value proposition by presenting solutions that clearly articulate the benefits and advantages to the client; help the client to understand alternatives, navigate and implement proposed solutions; and identify opportunities and refer clients to RBC Partners to meet the clients broader advice needs
  • Educate the client with new or emerging issues that will impact their business by providing the client with unique, valuable insights on the clients industry, business or market
  • Plan and prioritize client and market activities to win as One RBC, seeking referral opportunities for the relationship team, National Specialized Solutions (NSS) and other RBC partners
  • Gather insights through client discovery to identify a broad range of solutions to further anchor clients to RBC and increase share of wallet
  • Partner with the entire CRT and (CAM) and Commercial Banking Associates (CBA) to develop a coordinated client contact strategy, ensuring future client needs are identified and met

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven experience supporting large clients within the payment space
  • Proven experience in the financial services industry, specifically within a cash management and treasury solutions role
  • Strong client focus, highly organized, and the ability to incorporate sales disciplines into day-to-day activities and routines
  • Proven ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced environment
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills while building partnerships with stakeholders and fostering team work
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; notably the ability to illustrate with words the impact of the recommended solutions on the clients business operation(s) relationships
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a business development mindset to grow and develop their business opportunities

Nice-to-have

  • Attained the CTP - Certified Treasury Professional designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a financial institution
  • Proven working knowledge of payment settlement within Canada
  • Understanding of cross-border settlement between Canada and the U.S.
  • Knowledge of payment settlement between Canada and other jurisdictions
  • Awareness of AML as it relates to processing of payments
