Rogue Research produces the Brainsight® neuronavigation system, which has been used in neuroscience research for over 20 years. With more than 1,000 installations worldwide, Brainsight® is now the most popular neuronavigation system in the research areas of cortical stimulation as well as electrophysiology and veterinary surgery.

Rogue Research continually develops new solutions and products to enable its partners to be at the forefront and to be able to efficiently carry out their research. This includes robotic positioning systems as well as a unique magnetic stimulation device in the world.

Rogue Research is expanding and is currently looking for new talent to develop new medical devices. We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer/Designer to participate in the development of new products and/or the improvement of existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Design schematics for PCBs and/or cabling of new products or updates to existing products.
  • Design PCB layout for printed circuit boards.
  • Create and review symbols for new and existing components.
  • Write and perform verification instructions for new or updated circuit boards.
  • Participate in the production of prototype units.
  • Participate in the investigation of nonconforming products related to electrical schematics.
  • Help production for specific electrical repairs if needed.

Prerequisites

  • Good experience with the Altium software (minimum 2 years).
  • Good knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C and SPI.
  • Good problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Good design review skills.
  • Experience with measuring tools such as oscilloscopes.
  • Good soldering skills (THT, SMT).
  • Autonomous and proactive.
  • Bilingual (French and English).

Assets

  • Experience with high-speed digital design and/or power electronics.
  • Experience with simulation software such as SIMetrix/SIMPLIS.
  • Experience with USB and/or Ethernet communication protocols.
  • Interest in the biomedical engineering field.
