Our expectations

Reporting to the Divisional Vice-President, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Director, Finance - Productivity (CD and retail stores) will be responsible for overseeing the analysis of corporate store and distribution centre expenses. The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting their own team and internal customers in tracking results and action plans, as well as in developing forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans to help achieve financial goals.

Your role

  • Act as a business partner to the Executive Vice-Presidents, Store Operations and Distribution Centres
  • Review expense forecasts and budgets for corporate stores and distribution centrers, and track variances between actual results and budget forecasts on a monthly basis
  • Develop and monitor profitability performance indicators specific to stores and distribution centres
  • Develop financial monitoring tools for store and distribution centre managers
  • Review store workforce planning and advise our business partners on productivity best practices
  • Support internal customers in developing the strategic plan
  • Supervise ad hoc analyses to explain results
  • Participate in business cases for new productivity projects and make recommendations
  • Identify profitability improvement opportunities and present them to customers and immediate superiors

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
  • At least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in finance in progressive roles, including team management experience
  • CPA designation (an asset)
  • Experience in the retail industry (an asset)
  • Autonomy, motivation, results-oriented with a focus on the presentation of high-quality work
  • Ability to speak in front of a group and to explain financial concepts in simple terms
  • Excellent analysis, synthesis, and management presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and multi-stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-growing and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of IT tools, including Excel
