Our expectations

Under the supervision of the National Director of Sales and Dealer Services, the Project Manager-Merchandising is responsible for the planning, execution, and follow-up of merchandising projects for the Rona affiliate network. He collaborates with various internal and external teams to ensure the effective implementation of initiatives aimed at maximizing sales and customer experience. He will also support the team of directors and category managers in all initiatives and programs. He will ensure the maintenance and improvement of processes.

Your role

  • Collaborate in the development of the strategy and the implementation of the merchandising plan for Rona Dealers.
  • Supervise and coordinate the different stages of Merchandising projects, from conception to implementation: gathering information, organizing and leading project meetings, defining tasks, and assigning them to the relevant departments.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers in connection with merchandising initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources necessary for each project.
  • Facilitate communication between the different stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and the success of projects.
  • Create, standardize, and maintain up-to-date tools and documents (weekly planers, promotional calendars, category review calendars, booking calendars, supplier contact list).
  • Conduct regular market analyses to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Monitor competitors’ activities and adjust our strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and deliver training for internal teams and affiliate dealers on new initiatives and marketing tools.
  • Prepare analytical reports, monitor project performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), and recommend adjustments to optimize results.
  • Work closely with the merchandising, marketing, IT, design, and store operations teams.

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in retail, merchandising, or marketing.
  • Experience in merchandising (an asset).
  • Experience in category management (an asset).
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business administration, communications, project management).
  • Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate informal leadership.
  • Strong adaptability to change.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organizational, results-oriented approach, process optimization, and customer experience focus.
  • Ability to identify problems, make recommendations, and implement strategies to address necessary corrections.
  • Political skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
