Play a key role at Rona! As a Training Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of our teams developing essential training programs that will enrich your leadership and management skills. Your role:- Support training initiatives and analyze operational training needs in order to provide efficient training solutions, support achievement of KPIs and the needs of DC operations
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in partnership with Engineering and Operations, identify learning gaps, and develop and execute program enhancements to training modules for Operations associates
- Lead materials handling equipment plan and coordinate (MHE) training sessions for new DC associates, as well as retraining for existing team members
- Lead and/or participate in training sessions, work sessions and/or committees on the various projects related to team activities
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for management and team members in worksite safety practices such as, fire prevention, lockout/tagout, fall protection and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, materials-handling equipment and other materials
- Monitor the budget and produce dashboards for the client group and provide updates on a regular basis to the Training and Development team
- Manage and coordinate suppliers and external contractors that offer learning and development services, and ensure the quality and compliance of the products they develop as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
- 3-5 years of experience within a training advisor role, including experience developing and implementing training programs for various groups
- Previous power equipment training experience (e.g.: forklift, reach truck, yard truck) (an asset)
- Proven team-building skills
- Ability to build rapport and trust with others
- Priority-setting skills to manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
