Our expectations

As a Cost Commodity Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing the costs of various commodities used in our production processes. Your primary focus will be on understanding and mitigating the impact of commodity market fluctuations on our cost structure. You will collaborate closely with the merchandising, finance, and sourcing teams to ensure cost-effective procurement and efficient use of materials. Your analytical skills and market insights will drive strategic decisions and align negotiations around costing.

Your role

  • Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis of commodities, including raw materials, components, and finished goods, with a focus on identifying cost increases linked to market fluctuations.
  • Market Research: Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to forecast commodity prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Relation Management: Collaborate with the merchandizing team to help them align their pricing negotiation, terms, and contracts, ensuring the best value for the company.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with commodity price volatility and supply chain disruptions.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update databases with relevant cost and market data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various departments to align commodity strategies with overall business objectives.

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or related experience
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in cost analysis
  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Market research: Proficiency in conducting market research to monitor price fluctuations
  • Attention to details: Precision in managing data and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Communication skills Clear and concise communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • We require all our head office associates to be proficient in French, spoken and written.
