Your role

Provide effective leadership to team members, including mentoring and building relationships

Provide coaching, counselling, and training to ensure competence and the safe, efficient, and accurate completion

Establish workflows based on delivery orders and scheduling

Assign work to team members, taking into consideration available hours, skill sets and

other resources to ensure operational targets are met

Work with Customer Service team members to coordinate loads and carriers

Promote safety in the workplace environment and ensure all safety rules and procedures are followed

Identify problem areas and arrange training when necessary

Prepare and actively participate in the annual performance review process

Investigate new logistical innovations that would enhance overall facility performance

Identify and assist in implementing process improvements

Attend job-related courses yearly to remain current on industry trends and best practices

Conduct routine meetings with staff and encourage input in order to promote job enrichment and increase overall job satisfaction

Assess staffing requirements necessary to process business volumes and submit the recruitment and training plan to Operations Manager for review

Ensure all work is conducted according to health and safety policies and legislation

Directly resolve equipment issues (for example, replace failed equipment or contact Maintenance)

The qualifications we are looking for

College degree in logistics, production and operations management, replenishment, administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience and/or education)

3-5 years of prior supervisory or team leader experience in a similar position

Proven team-building skills

Ability to manage change well and remain positive to change

Understanding of Fulfilment/Distribution Centre/Warehouse processes and flow

Functional bilingualism (an asset)

Ease of use with information technologies and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite

Experience working with an integrated warehouse management system (WMS) and transport management system (TMS)

Able to react and make decisions quickly, team player capable of working under pressure

Customer-service and results-driven approach

Excellent communication skills
