Description:
The estimator is responsible for producing material lists indicating the products and quantities required according to the specifications of the plans and blueprints. The estimating team serves RONA corporate and affiliate stores, as well as sales representatives. Site visits are only occasional, as this is primarily an office-based role.
Your Role
Produce lists indicating the products and quantities for all types of projects based on plans provided by the client.
Prepare assembly plans for engineered wood (beams and joists) for sales teams, always based on plans provided by the client.
Review plans or shop drawings and propose alternative solutions to meet building codes and client needs.
Provide technical assistance and advice to internal and external sales representatives.
Offer technical support as required by municipal/regional authorities, architects, or engineers regarding the assembly plans produced. Promptly resolve issues.
Requirements:
Completion of a diploma in Architectural Technology or any other construction-related program, or at least five years of experience in a similar role.
Strong ability to efficiently and productively complete material lists.
Strong skills in reading and understanding construction plans or shop drawings.
Good knowledge of engineered wood products.
Good knowledge of the National Building Code.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
