Employee Wellness Manager

It is acknowledged that Central Okanagan Public Schools operates within the unceded, Traditional Territory of the Okanagan syilx peoples. The School District enrolls over 25,500 students (including approximately 3200 students who self-identify as having First Nations, Metis, and/or Inuit ancestry). Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country. There are a total of 51 school sites with 33 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle schools, 5 Secondary Schools, 3 Learning Centres, an Alternate Education School, and an Online Learning School (K-12). CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Applications are invited from dedicated and enthusiastic professionals who are committed to System Wellbeing and Employee Wellness. This management position will be responsible for enhancing a culture of staff wellness and engagement throughout Central Okanagan Public Schools. The above-referenced position will be effective July 1, 2024. Salary range is $96,786 - 120,983 per year.

Major responsibilities:

Design and execute comprehensive wellness programs to foster a culture of health and employee wellbeing.

Collaborate with school administrators and managers to integrate wellness initiatives for all staff members.

Enhance staff engagement by empowering employees and fostering supportive relationships within the organization.

Lead the Wellness Working Group to coordinate and drive wellness activities and strategies.

Support administrators and managers in wellness meetings with employees, offering guidance and resources.

Provide support and guidance through employee return to work processes.

Develop, collect, and monitor wellness and attendance metrics to assess program effectiveness and participation, and implement necessary improvements.

Organize wellness events, professional development, workshops, and seminars, to promote wellness and engagement.

Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in organizational health and wellness to ensure the programs remain current and effective.

Maintain a comprehensive and specific knowledge of the organization, collective agreements, policies, administrative procedures, and current legislation.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Organizational Wellness, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience in managing wellness programs, preferably in an educational setting.

Strong leadership and project management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
