Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
- demonstrated competence and experience in teaching Secondary English including: English First Peoples 12, Literary Studies and Writing, Creative Writing, and Humanities 9 (English and Socials).
- demonstrated ability to recognize individual students' differences and effectively differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the learning needs of all students in a diverse classroom for all subjects in this assignment
- knowledge of First Peoples Principles of Learning
- demonstrated ability to motivate and provide success for students experiencing difficulties with learning English key concepts
- demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom
- demonstrated ability to adapt or modify curriculum for students who are experiencing difficulties
- knowledgeable about, and committed to balanced assessment practices
- demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom
- demonstrated excellent classroom management behaviour management and classroom organization skills
- demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and developing positive relationships with adolescents
