The Richmond School District is seeking a qualified part-time secondary Technology Education teacher. This position currently consists of 3 multi-grade blocks of Tech Education including: Auto, Woodworking, Robotics, Power Mechanics, CADD and Metal Art. The specific grades/levels will be determined in consultation with Department members.

The students in all classes at McNair will range from those who are highly skilled in a curricular area to those with limited English language exposure and awareness. A demonstrated ability to engage with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds and with a wide variety of learning needs and styles is required. Recent work experience must reflect a commitment to collaboration and teamwork and a willingness to work closely with other colleagues in a professional and supportive environment.

McNair is a comprehensive 8-12 school with a focus on student voice and promoting a well-rounded education. Staff and students pride themselves on their reputation for achievement and for being caring and respectful citizens. We have Collaboration time at McNair and all staff must be involved in conversations and reflective actions to continuously enhance the learning of ourselves and our students. Our main goals are a focus on encouraging students to be socially responsible citizens who participate in the larger community and feel connected to and proud of our school and to continue to explore new teaching and assessment strategies to help our students achieve even greater success.

The successful candidate must be a qualified Technology Education teacher with experience in these subjects including Automotive at the grade levels. All candidates must be certified by the BC Ministry of Education - Teacher Regulation Branch.
