POSITION: Inclusion Support Teacher
APPOINTMENT: 1.0 FTE Continuing
START DATE: September 1, 2024
Qualifications Required:
education degree plus a Master’s degree, or an inclusive education certificate, or 5 upper-level courses (must include a Level B Assessment course);
recent successful classroom teaching experience in adapting curriculum;
ability to lead in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Individual Education Plans, Learning Support Plans and Annual Instruction Plans;
ability to select and adapt curriculum, programs, and instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students including those with complex diverse abilities;
ability to carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum-based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods, and administration and interpretation of norm-referenced assessment instruments to level B;
guide and support education assistant work under the direction of the school principal and provide leadership to the student support services department;
serve as school representatives when consulting with school district staff and community agencies;
effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;
ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and
BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.

Teacher Pay is based on years of experience and TQS category (link July 2024 Salary Grid).
