Commissioning technicians work with commissioning engineers to supervise the final stages of a project when systems are installed and tested. They go on site to customers facilities and do on site training. They inspect the correct functioning of the equipment, facilities, and plants and when necessary, they perform repairs and maintenance.

KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Project commissioning

Process of supervising the correct functioning of systems, buildings or plants during the final stages before deployment.

  • Quality assurance procedures

The procedures to inspect a product or system to ensure that it is according to specifications and requirements.

  • Engineering processes & Safety engineering

The systematic approach to the development and maintenance of engineering systems. The engineering discipline used to ensure that systems, machines and equipment work according to the set safety standards and laws, such as environmental law.

  • Maintenance and repair

The preservation and restoration of products and systems, and the methods and logistics of these practices

 

 SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use tools for construction and repair
  • Use measurement instruments
  • Ensure fulfilment of legal requirements
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation
  • Ensure conformity to specifications
  • Conduct quality control analysis
  • Analyse test data
  • Read standard blueprints
  • Record test data
  • Write work-related reports
  • Repair electronic components
  • Collaborate with engineers
  • Test performance of power plants
  • Troubleshoot

QUALIFICATIONS

  • DEC or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 0-3 years of commissioning experience, preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally 
  • Bilingual
