Duration: 1 year (possibility of extension)

Location: Hybrid - Kanata (3 days/week)

Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design, planning, and execution of cloud configurations and migration projects. This individual will be responsible for creating migration Scope of Work documents, managing cloud migration projects from inception to completion, and configuring private cloud hosts. The ideal candidate should possess an exceptional understanding of private cloud, virtual platforms, networks, and VM migrations in both hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong background in securing cloud environments and infrastructure.

Must Have Skills:

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect or in a similar role.
• 5+ years of experience in managing cloud projects, with a focus on VM migrations into VPC and Private Cloud Platforms.
• Proven track record in leading and managing cloud migration projects from start to finish, especially in private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, virtual platforms, and VM migrations.
• Strong expertise in private cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and optimization.
• In-depth understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, vCenter) and cloud orchestration tools.
• Hands-on experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures (Azure, AWS.).
• Proficiency in networking concepts, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, Edge Connects, and cloud connectivity.
• Familiarity with cloud security frameworks, encryption techniques, and compliance regulations

Additional Skills::

• Microsoft Azure Certification (Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent).
• VMware Certification (VCP-DCV or equivalent).
• CompTIA Cloud+ Certification.
• Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications in Azure, Vmware and CompTIA Cloud+. Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) an asset.
• Strong knowledge in IPSec tunnels, Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V, vCenter, penetration tests, VLAN’s and Edge Uplinks, VMware and NSX.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer-Focused VM Cloud Migration Projects:

• Design, plan, and successfully execute VM migration strategies to move customer workloads into our cloud infrastructure environments (private cloud, hybrid, multi-cloud).
• Collaborate with customers to understand their specific business requirements and design tailored migration strategies.
• Develop Scope of Work (SOW) documents outlining deliverables, timelines, risks, and milestones for VM migrations.
• Perform pre-migration assessments to identify potential challenges and offer solutions to optimize the migration process.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to ensure their expectations are met, while providing updates and progress reports throughout the migration process.
• Provide expert guidance and support to customers, ensuring smooth transitions into cloud environments with minimal disruption to business operations.

Private Cloud Configuration:

• Configure, and deploy private cloud host configurations.

Security and Compliance:

• Conceptual understanding of compliance regulations and practices (PCI, PIPEDA,etc.)
• Implement security best practices for cloud environments, ensuring data protection and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with the security team to design secure cloud infrastructure, including identity management, encryption, and firewalls.
• Conduct security assessments and audits to ensure continuous security posture in cloud environments.
