Description
Our valued client is seeking a Senior Security Compliance Advisor to provide leadership and expertise in managing security requirements for federal government and defense contracts!
Initial 1-year contract, 100% Remote. Part-time, expected effort of 5-10 hours per week. Occasional meetings during daytime hours.
The Senior Security Compliance Advisor will be responsible for providing ad-hoc specialized advisory
services to support JumpModel and its clients in navigating the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and
Contract Security Program (CSP) requirements administered by Public Services and Procurement Canada
(PSPC). The key focus of the engagement will be to help project teams determine when, where, and to
whom CGP/CSP clearances apply within the context of client engagements, ensuring compliance without
unnecessary delays or resource bottlenecks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on the security compliance process for federal government and defense contracts,
- ensuring adherence to the Industrial Security Program (ISP) and related regulations.
- Assess Project Workflows (e.g. Discovery, Requirements Gathering, Implementation, Support) to
- identify where CGP/CSP clearance requirements may apply based on exposure to controlled goods or
- sensitive information.
- Advise on Timing and Resourcing, helping both the consultancy and its clients determine when to
- onboard CGP-cleared resources, and avoid premature or unnecessary clearance processes.
- Interpret SRCL Requirements and security clauses in contracts and RFPs, and advise on appropriate
- security posture and personnel screening.
- Collaborate with Project and Delivery Teams to build security requirements into project plans without
- disrupting delivery timelines.
- Educate Stakeholders (internal and client-facing) on CGP/CSP fundamentals, including security
- responsibilities, risk mitigation, and compliance obligations.
- Review and Refine Security Documentation such as SRCLs, Organization Security Plans (OSP), and
- Site Security Plans (SSP) as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of Canadian government security requirements
- Train and educate employees on security policies, procedures, and clearance requirements.
Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience working in security compliance or contract security administration.
- Strong understanding of Government of Canada’s Contract Security Program (CSP) and
- Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
- Experience processing personnel security clearances at Reliability, Secret, and Top-Secret levels.
- Familiarity with Security Requirements Check List (SRCL) documentation and its
- implementation.
- Knowledge of Facility Security Clearances (FSC) and organization-wide security compliance.
- Ability to liaise with federal agencies and ensure compliance with Industrial Security Program
- (ISP) requirements.
