Our national retail client is looking for an Intermediate Cloud Engineer (Azure/GCP) to migrate applications and data solutions from on-premises to the cloud - 29798

Duration: 1 year

Location: Mississauga - on site 3-4 days a week - with a possibility of it moving to 5 days in the near future

Work hours: 7.5 hours/day

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for supporting the product and delivery teams in deploying new applications, or modernizing existing legacy applications, to cloud-native technologies using event-driven and microservices architectures.
• Provide leadership on deployment of code to cloud environments using a CI/CD methodology as well as provisioning and maintaining DEV, QA, and PROD environments.
• Provide technical leadership to complex and cross-functional projects to improve the technology environment.
• Hands-on expertise in FinOps on cost optimization, cost analysis, management tools, and optimization strategies

Must Haves:

• Minimum 3 years of experience using Azure or GCP and services including Docker, Terraform, GitHub, Airflow, Looper, and ADF.
• Experience with queuing systems like Kafka
• Experience with SQL and NO-SQL database technologies, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Cassandra, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Cloud certifications (Associate or Expert level) in Microsoft Azure or GCP.
• Working experience in cloud architecture with background in software architecture with a focus on FinOps and cost optimization.
• GitHub (branching and merging strategies).
