Intermediate System Administrator to Install, Upgrade, Configure and Maintain Operating Systems in the Public Sector

Our valued public sector client is looking to hire an Intermediate System Administrator (Secret cleared) to provide a range of system administration expertise to provide access control and security for DSSTNi and client system components required to support electronic warfare M&S activities.

Background:

DSSTNi remains under active development with limited system administration instructions or procedures. The System Administrator must support the core development team at the Exercise & Simulation Branch, primarily focusing on the addition of the client requested features and capabilities. The Resource must routinely complete tasks independently and without detailed instructions.

The System Administrator must attend and provide on-site support for a minimum of one (1) field trial per year or as required by the Technical Authority (TA). This activity must utilize the DSSTNi Deployable system in stand-alone mode and the Resource must support users during the trial with limited reach-back to the core DSSTNi development team or internet access.

Tasks:

The System Administrator must execute the following tasks during the period of this contract:

• Install and configure DSSTNi system software and hardware;
• Install and configure client system software within the DSSTNi cloud;
• Manage DSSTNi network appliances and servers;
• Manage client system virtual network appliances and servers;
• Setup user accounts and build and allocate required virtual machines;
• Monitor DSSTNi and client system performance;
• Perform routine maintenance of DSSTNi and client system as required or when requested by the TA;

Must haves:

Physical and virtual computers - 5 years

Virtualization - 5 years

Backup and recovery of information systems for both individual machines and complete data centres - 5 years
