Senior Business Intelligence Developer to migrate existing applications from MicroStrategy to Qlik Sense

Our valued healthcare client is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to migrate existing applications from MicroStrategy to Qlik Sense

Initial 1-year contract with a possibility of extension to a total of 3 years. Candidates with the ability to work hybrid on-site (2 days/week) in North York, ON or Ottawa, ON would be preferred however remote options will be available. 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will capable of serving both in a hands-on developer and architect function; designing, developing, testing, and deploying Qlik based visualizations, dashboards and reports - including Qlik data models, security models, backend integration with AWS S3/Redshift, and embedding in Drupal based web pages thru mashups - following approved architecture design, AODA (WCAG 2.0) compliance, bilingual (EN/FR) requirements, UX provided wireframes, and Information Architecture directives.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in Qlik Sense development, data modeling and dashboards/visualizations, reporting techniques, extensions and web integration of Qlik Sense apps to Drupal web pages through Mashups.
• Understand how to develop reports, cubes and interactive dashboards in MicroStrategy.
• Support Data transformation, creation of QVD files and set analysis.
• Support application design, architecture, development and deployment using Qlik Sense, and apply the best practices for visualizations. The design must follow internal standards/UX guidelines/wireframes and be AODA (WCAG 2.0) compliant and bilingual (Eng/FR).
• Understand and translate technical and business requirements into Qlik architectural designs.
• Support the implementation of the proposed technical solution using the enterprise Cloud Technology stack (AWS, Redshift, S3, Informatica, Drupal).
• Provide expertise for the Qlik Management Console, including Management, Security rules and Maintenance of tasks, Extensions, Streams and Apps.
• Handle performance issues with Qlik applications (Performance tuning).
• Utilize Qlik API’s for integration with web pages thru true mashups.

Must-Have

• 4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence development utilizing Qlik Sense (functions, dashboards, visualizations, filters, tooltips, custom development) and extensions, to solve business problems and meet business requirements
• 3+ years of experience developing, testing and deploying Qlik BI applications in a Cloud environment (especially AWS)
• 3+ years of experience developing data models in Qlik to ingest data (in-memory) for use in the Qlik dashboards
• 3+ years of experience developing Qlik applications to fit Accessibility compliance rules (AODA/WCAG 2.0) and bilingual requirements (EN/FR)
• 1+ year of demonstrated experience developing reports, cubes, and interactive dashboards in Microstrategy
• 3+ years of experience developing data transformations in Qlik Sense, creation of QVD files and set analysis
• 3+ years of experience in implementing custom visualizations and widgets using Sense API and third-party charting libraries (d3, chart.js, etc)
• 3+ years of experience with Qlik Management Console, including Management, Security rules, and Maintenance of tasks, extensions, streams and apps

• Knowledge and experience with architecture of Qlik security models
• Knowledge and experience with integrating Qlik and Informatica metadata (Axon, EDC)
• Experience/knowledge of automation of admin tasks
