Senior PL/1 Mainframe Developer for GLPR (Graduated Licensing Program) and NMLP (New Motorcycle Licensing Program) - 00797/00798

Our public sector client is looking for 2x Senior PL/1 Mainframe Developer for GLPR (Graduated Licensing Program) and NMLP (New Motorcycle Licensing Program)

One will be 6 months contract and the other one will be 12 months contract. Fully remote but Victoria candidates will be preferred.

Must have:

• 3+ years of experience developing mainframe database applications using PLI, JCL, and other relevant technologies.
• Strong understanding of IBM (zOS, IMS, DB2) architecture, subsystems, and utilities.
• Proficiency in using mainframe development tools and utilities (e.g., ISPF, TSO, SDSF).
• Experience with source code management tools (e.g., Git, ISPW).

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mainframe applications using PLI, JCL, and other relevant programming languages, to attain project enhancement goals
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to mainframe systems and batch jobs.
• Enhancements to existing IMS Transactions
• DB2 Stored procedures accessing IMS database and possibly DB2 storage
• Integrate DB2 stored procedures with Java API developers
• Enhance batch jobs, create one-time, project specific batch jobs
• Enhancement to online MF screens
• Logic Analysis and documentation to allow refactor of some code
• Decommission of some IMS Transactions
