Our valued public sector client is looking for a Secret Cleared Senior Project Manager to support numerous concurrent IM/IT-related projects utilizing project management methodologies.

The resource will provide project management leadership, expertise and experience for the initiation, planning, implementation and project completions. The resource will be required to manage small, medium to large scale, complex, multi-team, multi-platform IM-IT systems development projects and/or infrastructure design and implementation projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively applying project management methodology(ies) and enforce Department project processes and standards accordingly;
  • Managing project plans by defining deliverables, identifying key milestones, reviewing project progress, and engaging in ongoing risk management;
  • Issues Management: Set up the Issues Management Log for project issues, monitor and track status and report status. Escalate as required. Deliverable: Issues Log with all project issues recorded.
  • Risk Management: Set up the Risk Management Log and record risks, monitor and track status and report status. Escalate as required. Deliverable: Risk Log with project risks recorded.
  • Change Requests: Ensure all scope/change requests to baseline-configured items are documented with formal Change Requests and are reviewed and actioned as per the change request procedure and Change Management Board or authority. Deliverable: Documented Change Requests with CMB or authority decisions.
  • Business Processes: Facilitate the documentation of the required business process requirements with OPI Sponsor, stakeholders and team to complement the technical solution. Document the business processes, roles, and responsibilities. Deliverable: Detailed Business Processes.
  • Developing initial process and documentation templates for coordination of projects with Information Management and Technology Services (IM&TS) for Department clients and projects;
  • Coordinating other Project Managers or Coordinators assigned to deliver sub project(s) of a complex project, managed by the Senior Project Manager;
  • Performing project planning, develop project charter and project management plans for all knowledge areas;
  • Creating, executing and maintaining project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and project demands;
  • Overseeing the development of a Project Business Case (e.g. business planning and program review)
  • Maintaining existing plans, PPM Office tools, procedures and systems in use within the PPM Office that are needed to manage and direct PPM Office development activities;
Must Haves
  • Secret Clearance
  • Valid PMP or Prince 2 certification
  • 10yrs + experience as Project Manager
