Sr. Backend Java, (Springboot/Spring) Developer working with Kafka and AWS to a support multi-year project for a banking client

Duration: 6 months with strong possibility of extension

Location: Hybrid (1-2 days a week in DT Toronto office)

Description:

Senior backend developer that can build strategic adaptors to consume batch as well as real-time messages, normalize the data in a uniform way and publish data onto messaging bus for downstream systems to consume. Develop and implement micro services that are scalable and easy to maintain while following Agile methodologies, to achieve timely and quality deliverables.

Focus is for this developer to build critical core services across the client technology stack. Key role is needed to continue the buildout and delivery of multiple functionality services across projects.

Must haves:

• 10+ years of experience in coding, application development using Java, Springboot, Spring framework, REST Services, JavaScript, Apache, FIX.
• 7+ years of experience in Relational Database development in SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in integrating with high speed messaging systems like Kafka
• Experience with AWS - S3, Glue, Lambda, EC2, RDS

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Shell scripting and Python a strong plus
• Cross Capital Markets and/or Investment Banking experience is a strong plus.
• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree.
