Your role and responsibilities
You are a talented, creative, and passionate HR Specialist – Compensation & Well-Being who will play a key role in SIA’s success by supporting the performance, compensation and well-being of our talent, enabling them to perform and grow in the challenging field of technology consulting services.
We are excited to offer this part-time, hybrid opportunity to an HR Specialist who excels at managing total rewards, compensation, benefits and other well-being programs. This position is designed for someone who values a balanced work schedule, with 26 hours per week across 4 days (6.5 hours/day fixed schedule with 1 day every other week in-person at the office). The ideal candidate for this role excels in fast-paced, dynamic environments and demonstrates a strong combination of HR planning, organization, administration and follow-up/reporting skills. You can tackle complex challenges, manage innovative programs, provide an exceptional employee experience and contribute to key organizational outcomes.
The HR Specialist – Compensation and Well-Being is employee-focused and growth-oriented, with responsibilities that include:
- Document and communicate SIA’s Total Rewards strategy to employees and candidates
- Manage SIA’s standard and individual compensation plans in coordination with SIA’s payroll team
- Handle compensation & benefits changes for new hires, departures, promotions, and salary scale updates
- Time management & reporting – weekly timesheets, time-off, presence awareness, flexibility programs
- Manage performance reporting and incentive earnings
- Manage employee recognition and rewards programs
- Manage benefits programs and 3rd party providers
- Ensure compliance with the Pay Equity Act and other applicable HR laws and regulations
- Support employees and respond to compensation, benefit and well-being inquiries
- Assist in developing, communicating, and administering HR policies, guidelines, programs, and processes
- Conduct employee self-assessments and culture surveys
- Assist in planning and executing SIA social club and corporate team building activities
Desired skills and expertise
Ideal candidates will possess the following profile:
- University degree in HR, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an HR generalist; the following specific experience would be an asset:
- Practical knowledge of Canadian labour laws
- Experience working with Quebec-specific labour regulations (CNESST)
- Experience administering benefits programs - group insurance, retirement plans, etc.
- Strong proficiency with office productivity tools (O365, Slack, Box) and HR systems (BambooHR)
- Disciplined, organized, hands-on, detail oriented, meticulous, analytical, creative problem-solver.
- Experience coordinating HR activities and events (both virtual and physical)
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills, bilingual (French, English)
- Demonstrates the highest degree of empathy, integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion
- Authorized to work & travel (for business & educational purposes) in Canada or the USA
