BUDGET COORDINATOR

Salary Range: $62,780 to $78,478 per year

1.0 FTE - Temporary June 2025 to December 2026



The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Budget Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support in the areas of budget development and control. This includes assisting with the documentation, reporting, and monitoring of the schools' annual budget, school generated funds and any related supplementary funding. The Budget Coordinator will provide support to the Superintendent and Principal to ensure compliance with the Ministry of Education and the Board's internal controls. The Budget Coordinator will provide direction to school support staff as required to ensure compliance with Ministry of Education and the Board's internal controls. The successful candidates will promote a team environment to meet established standards for service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum two (2) year college diploma in business, accounting, or a related field;
  • Three (3) years related experience in the areas of administrative, financial and office services practices, preferably in an education environment;
  • Candidates may also be considered with a minimum combination of five (5) years of educational equivalency, including minimum education requirements listed above and progressive experience related to the Budget Coordinator position;
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounting;
  • Project management and team coordination experience;
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills;
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic, evolving environment;
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required as this position requires periodic travel to SCDSB locations.

This is a full-time temporary position. The regular work year for this position is twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $62,780 to 78,478 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The normal work week for this position is thirty-five (35) hours.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,

even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
