SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 1.0 FTE Full-time Position Salary Range: $76,095 - 93,939 per year The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Speech and Language Pathologist. Reporting to the Senior Psychologist/Manager of Clinical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of Speech and Language Pathology services within the Special Education Department. The Speech and Language Pathologist will provide direct assessment model intervention to students demonstrating mild to moderate speech and language difficulties (phonological, receptive, and expressive language impairments). In addition, the incumbent will provide clinical supervision with regards to the delivery of direct language/speech therapy/interventions through a Communications Disorder Assistant (CDA), as well as provide support services and deliver professional learning to special education teams, classroom teachers and parents with regards to speech and language programming. Qualifications: · Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology;· Certificate of registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech and Language Pathologists of Ontario. Pertinent Skills and Experience: · Two (2) to three (3) years related experience, preferably within the education environment;· Excellent oral and written communication skills;· Ability to work as a team member with pathologists, teachers, and community agencies;· Strong planning and organizational skills;· Ability to develop individual program plans for students with speech and language disorders;· Experience with Augmentative Communication Systems is preferred;· Ability to modify curriculum for effective program delivery;· Knowledge of legislation, codes, and regulations as they pertain to delivery of assessment services, privacy, and confidentiality;· Provide clinical supervision to non-registered staff in accordance with the provisions of the College of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists;· Reliable transportation required;· The nature of this position will require travel within an assigned district; mileage reimbursement at the Board approved rate;· Other duties as assigned by the Principal of Special Education. The compensation range for this position is $76,095 - 93,939 per year , depending on qualifications and experience. Assigned area(s) may be subject to change in the future.
