We are looking for our next Video Production Specialist to be part of our Global Communications Team. Seamlessly integrating into our digital marketing strategies, our next Video Production Specialist will be responsible for helping us create video assets and bringing them to life by delivering high-quality and innovative video content using storytelling, videography, editing and motion graphics. This is the right role for a creative individual with excellent aesthetic judgment and willingness to collaborate within a team environment. An integral part of every stage in the creative process, from conceptualization to finalization, we are seeking a team player who knows how to get stuff done with ease.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute any video production-related tasks daily according to the established plan

  • Produce a variety of video formats for digital distribution

  • Plan, script, storyboard and produce assigned in-house and field-based productions

  • Operate audio/video equipment, cameras, hard disk video recorders, audio mixers, etc.

  • Work with stakeholders and talent to successfully produce required videos from the conception to delivery

  • Provide limited troubleshooting of video, audio and lighting equipment

  • Research trends and make recommendations to the department for software and equipment purchases

  • Field Production in cooperation with other employees to coordinate pre-production and production planning activities

  • Communicate technical information in non-technical terms

  • Write and edit scripts and storyboards to help set up the video productions for success

  • Plan post-production schedules and perform video post-production tasks which include reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, revisions, final edits, audio adjustment, colour correction, and video transcoding.

  • Create and utilize motion graphics and special effects for video post-production following the overall production concepts and compress video projects for online mediums

  • Publish, organize and optimize media for third-party video hosting web platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vidyard, etc.

  • Coordinate internal and external video duplication and updates services as required

  • Utilize the internal project management tool to ensure timely deliveries as well as keep the project plans and statuses transparent and accessible for the wider team

Experience You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or International Equivalent in Radio/TV, Film, Fine Arts or related field

  • 2-4 years of experience with complete video production and post-production processes

  • In-depth knowledge of the video production process: scripting, storyboarding, directing, filming, interviewing, editing, compositing, encoding, uploading, and managing media

  • Advanced writing skills with superior vocabulary; ability to express yourself and excellent grammar/attention to detail.

  • Prior work experience with corporate and promo video formats

  • Understanding storytelling concepts and formats, structure & flow, and identifying the target audience

  • Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with production techniques and standards

  • Expert knowledge of parts of the Adobe CC Suite related to video production (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition…)

  • Experience in audio/video podcast and live event broadcast production

  • Knowledge of video/filming production and post-production equipment

  • Understanding of emerging technologies in video production

  • Articulate and professional communication in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Ability to visualize concepts and transform them into video content pieces effectively

  • Ability to work in a variety of onsite and offsite settings

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and fast-paced environments

  • Ability to recognize potential issues and proactively find creative solutions

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in video, including lighting, sound, editing, media encoding

  • Excellent grasp of video positioning in digital media and best practices for creating videos that are tailored for distribution across the digital landscape

  • 3D modelling and animation are a plus

  • Video reel and samples of published work

  • Valid Driver's License in Ontario

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
