Sturgeon Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for work assignments with our Morinville Public School, located in Morinville, AB, just minutes north of St. Albert. These assignments are subject to change based on operational requirements.

MPS offers specialized, exciting programs for students in Pre-K through Grade 4. Our talented staff are dedicated to providing an exceptional education in a safe and caring environment. Our staff engage students through a child-centered philosophy, play and project-based instruction.

Hours: 1.0 FTE; Full-Time Temporary; 6.5 hrs/day

Initial Assignment: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistants will work with students in Junior Pre-K to Grade 4.

Qualifications & Experience: Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma or Certificate is required; experience working with behaviours and students who have difficulty managing emotional responses to frustration is an asset. CPR and First Aid are desirable. Preference given to applicants with experience and training with Autism, Behaviors and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training in schools. Experience with Trauma Informed practice is an asset. Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered.

Hourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
