Job Description:
Location: Hybrid (Montreal, Waterloo)
Employment type: 9-month contract
As the Manager of Tele-Interview and Reinsurance Operations, your role is vital in cultivating a client-focused environment and ensuring operational excellence. Reporting to the Director of Underwriting, you’ll make a significant impact by ensuring the Interviewers are coached, developed and skilled to meet the New Business Operations performance targets. What will you do?
- Communicate effectively with all sites to ensure a consistent experience for representatives and members
- Take on functional lead for certain tasks/New Business initiatives across the enterprise as needed
- Manage team performance daily ensuring the service and quality objectives are being attained and maintained on a consistent basis
- Seek out data to analyze metrics and take action intraday and proactively on emerging issues
- Ensure staff are equipped with the knowledge, training, experience, tools and technology needed to achieve the required business results
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to employees to develop their competencies and position them for success
- Participate in employee recruitment processes and foster a work environment that values the people and encourages participation, creativity, learning and accountability
- Partner with other areas to promote understanding and knowledge exchange between business units, and interact directly with members, as required
- Identify, develop & maintain opportunities for process and system improvements and manage process and system improvement projects where appropriate. For larger projects and/or those with an IT component, partner with Best Practices team by participating as the Subject Matter Exert on project team
What do you need to succeed?
- Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required as the position includes managing French and English-speaking staff (Quebec and outside Quebec) and providing daily support to the team.
- 4-5 years of managerial experience
- Project management experience, with an ability to understand, coordinate and mobilize resources in different initiatives
- Ability to influence change and build relationships
- Proven skills analyzing data to make sound, data driven decisions with an ability to navigate through reporting
- Problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills that consider the interests of the client and the company
- Demonstrated ability to find opportunities in customer service and efficiency
- Strong knowledge and understanding of statistical models & analysis
- Flexibility in working longer or overtime hours

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
