The Digital Event Specialist contributes to an impressive slate of in-person, virtual and hybrid events, providing digital technology expertise to meet corporate event objectives and business goals. A creative solutions expert, the Digital Event Specialist is responsible for supporting a wide range of digital event tools, including virtual event platforms, event apps, websites, registration services and project management platforms as well as creative tools. The Specialist utilizes tools, templates and training to efficiently support the work of the Senior Digital Event Producers.

As a resource for business partners across Sun Life, the Broadcast and Event Services (BES) team provides event management, production, broadcast, AV and multimedia services for a robust portfolio of corporate experiences. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Event Producing, the incumbent will closely collaborate with all streams within BES for the seamless delivery of events and multimedia services across North America.

What will you do?

  • Leveraging the established best practices for event technology resources across all event programs, including event websites, platform management, registration, event content preparation, graphics, diagramming, reporting and system tools.

  • Attending technology supplier meetings, practice audits and troubleshooting technical issues where applicable

  • Updating user guides, conducting training and supporting team members as required. Producing and distributing communications/reports with analysis on usage and opportunities.

  • Managing concurrent event program deliverables with superb project management skills to achieve key milestones.

  • Providing onsite registration and event application support at events.

  • Leveraging Adobe Creative Suite to assist with the creation of event assets and onsite materials.

  • Analysing and reporting on feedback and working with the Senior Digital Producers to identify process improvements.

  • Leveraging reporting and dashboards for tracking, measuring and analyzing event data

  • Building and maintaining close relationships with business partners, to gain in-depth knowledge of objectives and expectations.

  • Ensuring the proper administration of event expenses, billing and maintaining accuracy within project management systems.

  • Adhere to company policies and industry best practices for the event planning processes, pre, during and post-events

What do you need to succeed?

  • Advanced understanding of event management logistics and hospitality business processes

  • Advanced fluency in MS Office Suite of tools (Excel, Word, Power Point, Sharepoint, MS Teams, etc) with best-practices knowledge

  • Ability to quickly learn platforms, tools and technology, and willingness to complete advance systems training

  • Web design, graphic design and website management experience,

  • Mobile application building, testing, implementation and on-site support, with CVENT/Pheedloop/Webcast Canada experience and certification

  • Ability to create, evolve and maintain reporting mechanisms and make business recommendations based on data analysis

  • Ability to build strong business relationships in order to support the development and execution of creative and innovative events

  • Advanced interpersonal and project management skills

  • Working knowledge of meeting and event planning

  • Ability to develop understanding of unique needs of various key stakeholders, and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment

  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a team environment with internal and external partners

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications, product design, or event planning

  • 1-3+ years hands on experience in digital event management

  • 1-3+ years of hands-on experience with a wide range of event technology applications

  • Proficiency in Adobe with a good understanding of graphic design principles

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

Preferred:

  • CVENT certification is an asset

  • Experience with CAD, CSS, Html is an asset

  • Accounts payable/receivable coordination experience. Knowledge of SAP, ARIBA and/or Oracle systems an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
