Job Description:

We are seeking an innovative, results-driven, and experienced leader to manage our SPR Access Center of Excellence (CoE) team while embodying Product Owner competencies. This role will oversee a large team that supports comprehensive access management, with a focus on process consistency and digitization of workflows in Service Now. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Processes and Controls for system Access Management, preferably governed by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Logical Access Security Directives (LASD).

Successful candidates are expected to be able to leverage technology to advance workflow automation and achieve optimal user experience for clients. As part of the role, successful candidates should demonstrate strong understanding of Product Owner skillset, including strategic thinking, dependencies management and ability to build strong partnership with other teams in the organization. They work closely within the team to ensure appropriate segregation of duties and responsibilities for smooth execution of day-to-day access management, in parallel with the modernization and optimization of the overall SPR Access Management workflow and processes. The Access Manager/Product Owner will also be accountable for specific journey OKRs, based on the Access Team’s mission which focuses on consistency for Process and Controls.

What will you do?

  • Determine successful team structure to support on-going access management operation and strategic access management modernization and optimization goals
  • Set ambitious and clear vision for end-to-end adoption of ServiceNow for access management
  • Ensure effective communication to stakeholders, the team, and the organization.
  • Ensure processes align through the existing Access Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with the Logical Access Security Directive (LASD) across all areas supported by SPR Access CoE.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure digital vision and products align within team strategy and requirements
  • Prioritize items in the backlog and maintain backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
  • Prioritize design solutions towards streamlining process and enhanced user experiences.
  • Utilize user experience knowledge to translate needs into stories and acceptance criteria for their team
  • Determine end-to-end team output strategy from inception to production
  • Simplify processes to ensure the development of common product solutions in alignment with LASD.
  • Manage a team of System Access Analysts, focusing on career development, resourcing, and leadership support
  • Oversee the annual and periodic reviews for business systems with restricted access.
  • Develop and present team performance scorecards and insights to leadership and internal clients
  • Be accountable for product-specific OKRs and communicate progress to stakeholders

What do you need to succeed?

  • University degree or College Diploma (Business or Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience as Product Owner or in a role with similar duties and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams
  • Proficiency in MS applications: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, including facilitating Agile ceremonies and managing backlogs
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others, especially across organizational boundaries
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strategic vision to manage through various business and operational changes
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, able to adapt to different technical and business audiences
  • Strong collaboration, listening, mentoring, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and planning abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability in ambiguous situations
  • Customer service-oriented with a focus on delivering exceptional results
  • Passion for challenging the status quo, finding new solutions, and driving out-of-the-box ideas
  • Ability to navigate the organization at a senior level
  • Skilled in handling change management

What will be nice to have:

  • Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn
  • Knowledge of access management, including provisioning and access-related audits
  • Experience with Service Now or similar workflow management tools
  • Ability to drive actions through data analytics
  • Knowledge of various business systems used across Sun Life and supported by SPR
  • Financial sector concepts and business environment knowledge

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
