Job Description:
The Senior Facilities Manger will lead a geographically-diverse team of Facilities Managers (FM’s) to achieve their business and personal goals. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and management within our corporate environment. This role ensures that all facilities are maintained to the highest standard, aligns with company goals, and enhances Business Partner satisfaction. The Senior Facilities Manager will lead a team of facilities professionals, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate with internal departments to deliver exceptional service.
What will you do?
Manage and oversee all aspects of facilities operations, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
Collaborate with Business Partners to address their needs, concerns, and requests, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and maintaining strong relationships
Coordinate with internal Corporate Real Estate departments, to support project delivery and resolve any facilities-related issues
Develop and manage budgets for facilities operations, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective solutions
Lead and mentor a team of facilities professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee the performance of service providers, such as cleaning, maintenance, and security personnel
Implement and oversee sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of facilities operations
What do you need to succeed?
Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide
Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations
Proficiency in facilities management software and tools
Certification in Facilities Management (e.g., CFM, FMP, or equivalent)
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resources
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex facilities-related issues

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
