Job Description:

The Central East (CE) Regional Operations Team provides centralized IT services the seven (7) acute hospital organizations in the CE region of Ontario: Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highland Health Services, Lakeridge Health, Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital and Scarborough Health Network. Together, these organizations have been on a clinical transformation journey and went live in December 2021 with a shared, regional Clinical Information System (CIS), and a number of regional third-party applications.

The CE Regional Operations Team is comprised of a dedicated leadership team overseeing five (5) work streams: Outpatient Ancillary, Inpatient, Access/Revenue & Reporting, 3rd Party & Integration and Technical, with a number of clinical and technical Analysts, as well as a team of Principal Trainers (PTs) and Project Management Office (PMO). Scarborough Health Network (SHN) manages employee policies and act as paymaster on behalf of all 7 hospital organizations.

Principal Trainers at Epic Regional Team are responsible for identifying the need and gap in training of Credential Trainers as well as designing and drafting the training content related to the specific module. PTs work independently and as a Team with our trainers in the team to develop training materials and policies/procedures which support the analysts and end users.

Responsibilities:
• Developing role-based training content, independently or with team members, using a variety of software programs, tools, and applications (such as Microsoft Office)
• Designing, developing and maintaining instructional materials
• Maintaining policy and procedure documentation
• Incorporating feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures
• Learning new content and consulting with subject matter experts to develop training materials and answer any participant questions
• Training and credentialing local CTs as needed
• Collaborating with other regional PTs
• Preparing training lessons, printing materials, and setting up the training room and environment prior to the training session
• Presenting information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
• Managing projects by prioritizing projects and by creating and adhering to timelines
• Supporting the regional team analysts on triaging and discussing the tickets when needed
• Supporting the regional team analysts on issue resolution, workflow optimization, and end users communication when needed

Requirements:
• Previous training or operations experience with Epic preferred
• Epic certification in the relevant application preferred
• Ability to identify and communicate operational issues and drive the resolution of issues in an effective manner which also ensures high end user satisfaction
• Ability to handle complex problems and provide highly innovative and creative solutions that will achieve high quality business/clinical outcomes
• Strong understanding of workflows and procedures related to relevant applications.• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to logically examine a problem and determine the root cause and course of action
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability and willingness to learn new software, systems, and processes
• Highly reliable, able to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles and work under time pressures
