Job Description:
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, Technology Infrastructure the Senior Technical Specialist, Data Communication Infrastructure will manage and provide on-site support to the Hospital’s Data communications infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to managed switches, enterprise wireless solutions, Firewalls, Routing and, Network architecture documentation and maintenance. This will also include supporting related projects and providing guidance/expertise for staff-initiated requests all while maintaining a focus on cyber security best practices.
Responsibilities:
• Manage, implement and support LAN and WLAN infrastructure
• Manage and Support secure connectivity between multiple remote locations over the WAN
• Manage, implement and support Firewall configurations to ensure environment is secure and functional on a 24 hour basis
• Manage internal and external DNS/DHCP/Security Certificates
• Focus on implementing Cyber Security best practices
• Provide on call escalation support after hours
• Training and knowledge transfer
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• University Degree or College Advanced Diploma in relevant Technology Field
• 5+ years work experience in managing and supporting network and communications Infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Enterprise network and firewall architecture design and support requirements
• Strong understanding of firewall Security systems
• Experience in infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and still achieve required deadlines
• Create and organize documentation with regard to new and existing systems
• Strong time management skills
• Project Management Skills
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public
• Demonstrates values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.

Asset:
• Healthcare experience
• CCNP, A+ Networking , ITIL Foundations Certifications
• Ability to speak another language
