We are looking for a Quality Clerk

Job objective
This position exists to effectively ensures conformance of items to Thorlabs quality standards for their customers. Responsibilities include capturing issues, solving problems, and promoting quality throughout the company.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to :
- CDI:

  • before going into production: checking specification sheets (parts, drawings, wavelength, engraving file, test, report format, etc.), revise the item and create BOM in Bluestar, communicate with planner that item is ready for production
  • after production: perform final qualification tests and final documentation checks

- LPS: perform final qualification tests
- E-PDR:

  • Check data consistency between E-PDR, Filemaker and specification sheets for CDI.
  • Assist shipping when E-PDRs are empty for all other products
-RMA: Enter information into the system, answer customer service e-mails, draft and forward inspection reports to customers with information supplied by engineers.

In addition to the essential duties and tasks listed above, the person recruited will also be required to:
- Meet company standards for quantity and quality of work performed, executing all work-related tasks in a manner consistent with all company policies and procedures.
- Comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines regarding workplace standards of behavior in the performance of tasks and assignments.

Requested skills

Qualifications
Experience : Minimum 1-3 years experience in a similar position
Education: Post-secondary degree relevant to the position


Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Process and quality-oriented
  • Ability to think methodically and organize
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics D365
  • Perfect written and spoken skills of French and English, daily exchanges with other BUs are required
  • Strong ability to work in a group atmosphere and to meet high quality standards.
