Thorlabs was founded in 1989 with a simple mission: make photonics lab equipment more accessible to graduate students and junior professors. At the time, significant mark-ups and long lead times were the norm and we sought to build a loyal customer base using business practices based in speed, transparency, and support.

In Montreal since 2014, Thorlabs Canada focuses on the development and production of a wide range of fiber-based optical components for next-generation imaging devices and advanced instrumentation. We also machine a wide range of materials with femtosecond lasers.
