An energetic and visionary leader and member of the hospital leadership team, the Clinical Director is responsible for all activities related to the administrative, operational and patient care functions within the designated programs. Promotes quality patient care delivery, effective clinical resource management and ongoing development of teams within their programs. The Clinical Director works with clinical/hospital/program leaders to ensure activities and programs are consistent with UHN’s philosophy/objectives and that efficient/effective administrative and clinical practices are provided.
The primary responsibilities include: collaborating with their leadership teams (Managers, APN - Educators, Advance Practice Nurses), Vice Presidents, Directors of Practice and Programs as well as Medical Directors and Division/Department Chiefs to ensure effective coordination of patient care; providing exceptional leadership in the development of program, organizational and financial plans; liaising and collaborating with internal and external professionals and stakeholders to ensure service is aligned and integrated across and within the Program, UHN and the community; establishing and representing the Program through sound and influential decision-making and achievement of the strategic and operational plans; performing other duties consistent to the job classification, as required.
