Duties and Responsibilitites
Reporting to the Manager, the Parking Coordinator is responsible for the preparation, coding and submission of all financial transactions for the Parking Services Department. This includes preparing and coding invoices, journal entries, purchase orders, cheque requisitions, and preparing revenue remittance forms for all Parking Services revenue (cheques, credit card and debit payments). These transactions amount to over $4M in annual revenue from tickets and permits, as well as $400K in operating expenses. In addition to financial responsibilities, the position will act in a customer service role, responding to inquiries, complaints and requests for assistance relating to parking regulations, fees, options for permits, especially for one-time special events, and payment violations. The incumbent will also prepare statistical reports, as needed, for pay by plate collections, permit counts, and financial transactions. The Parking Coordinator is expected to maintain a high level of confidentiality and tact because there will be times when the incumbent will be dealing with sensitive issues, with irate and hostile staff and or off campus customers. This position will review, and process appeals in the managers absence or as requested. This position will also provide back-up to the Manager position in his/her absences.
Requirements
- 2 year Community College degree
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience working in a parking office environment, obtaining knowledge of parking policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to multi-task, understand inter-relational workings between billing processes and general ledgers and sub ledgers (the parking software system)
- Thorough knowledge of campus roads, parking lots, sidewalks and bicycle areas.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of relevant computer systems.
- Knowledge of University procedures, policies, Revenue Control and Audit Services.
