In addition, you’ll be working in a brand-new property located in the heart of Laval at Espace Montmorency, directly connected to the Montmorency metro station through an underground passage. Our hotel features 188 contemporary guest rooms and suites and offers a variety of services, including Laval’s first rooftop terrace. At the center of Espace Montmorency is the Piazza, with a beautiful garden in the summer and an ice rink in the winter.
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Rooms, the Front Desk Agent is responsible for welcoming, registering, and checking out guests. The agent will ensure high-level customer service at all times, in compliance with the brand and company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and register guests upon arrival and handle their departures efficiently and professionally.
- Assign rooms according to rates and special requests.
- Stay informed about hotel groups and events, as well as local happenings.
- Understand and apply special rates and offers.
- Make, modify, or cancel reservations and note special requests.
- Inform guests of hotel policies.
- Verify and balance room availability to maximize hotel revenue.
- Record, correct, or adjust guest charges as needed.
- Follow cash handling procedures and manage all transactions accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all daily tasks are completed.
- Communicate room status, VIP information, priorities, and early or extended departures to the housekeeping department.
- Share relevant information with the team, supervisors, and department heads.
- Use telephone systems and set up wake-up calls.
- Report maintenance or room issues to the appropriate departments.
- Properly handle emergency procedures, including fire alarms and safety measures.
- Assist guests with questions about hotel services and local attractions, and help with reservations as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in customer service with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with various tools and systems; experience with FOSSE and GXP is an asset.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate participative leadership, and take initiative.
- Independent and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Compliance with departmental, hotel, and company procedures and standards.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift.
- The position may transition to full-time.
- Availability to work evenings, days, weekends, nights, and holidays.
