Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Ambulatory Data/Booking Clerk to join the Renal Haemdialysis team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

As a Ambulatory Data/Booking Clerk with VCH you will:

  • Provide scheduling/booking, data entry and extraction and clerical and reception functions for the area.
  • Schedule/book a variety of client/patient appointments and follow up visits, tests, and referrals to other physicians and/or hospitals.
  • Prepare and confirm accuracy of client/patient information.
  • Enter data into several separate databases such as PCIS, FoxPro, Renal Soft, PROMIS etc.
  • Update statistics on client/patient attendance and other information.
  • Perform data reconciliation as required.
  • Prepare statistical reports at the request of the Manager or other team member.
  • Provide clerical functions such as typing a variety of technical and non-technical materials utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs.
  • Answer the phone and respond to routine messages or forward callers to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain departmental equipment, supplies and filing systems.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, two (2) year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
