As a Manager, Employee Wellness with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Be responsible for leading, guiding, developing, implementing and evaluating Employee Wellness initiatives, programs and activities for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and other health authorities that build employee engagement and resilience.
  • Represent the department and the Executive Director for the development and maintenance of client organization relationships and the development and negotiation of client and vendor contracts.
  • Participate in managing and planning resources, and managing the Employee Wellness brand and programs and services across the industry.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health related field.
  • Strong wellness, consultation and customer service, business development and marketing experience preferably in the Employee Wellness and EFAP field.
  • Seven (7) to nine (9) years’ recent, related managerial experience in progressively more senior leadership roles, preferably in an Employee & Family Assistance Program and/or Corporate Wellness Program.
  • Minimum of a Wellness based training certificate is required.
  • Current registration with an applicable accredited professional organization required.
  • Work related travel requires a valid BC Driver’s License and use of own vehicle.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrates current knowledge of new developments, trends and research in Employee Wellness and EFAP clinical / wellness service delivery and recommends/implements best practices accordingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide management consultations to design and present inspiring and engaging educational programs, workshops, and seminars in complex work environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, coach and inspire team members/others to set and achieve realistic and measurable goals that are in keeping with the vision, values and strategies of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of EFAP clinical services and practices and use exceptional listening skills to assess and attend to client and organizational needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and encourage knowledge of inclusion issues and related sensitivities.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate, collaborate, influence and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders for effective resolution of EFAP, wellness and client service issues. Uses problem solving and critical thinking abilities to resolve.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of group conflict and workgroup issues and demonstrated experience with successfully facilitating group interventions and resolving group and workplace conflict.
  • Advanced presentation and writing skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize sounds business acumen to manage the fiscal resources of the department in a manner that is financially responsible and consistent with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on customers and clients, engage stakeholders, assess and anticipate future needs, identifying potential problems and proactively responding with innovative solutions (e.g., generating revenue and program development activities).
  • Demonstrated business development ability; develops and executes business proposals, including negotiating and implementing contracts for EFAP’s customers and vendors.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
