Manager of Environmental Services

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Food and Nutrition Services and Environmental Services, the incumbent will have general responsibility for administrative management, human resources, coordination and effective financial control of their region’s environmental services department. The incumbent performs their duties and provides leadership to implement local and regional projects focused on continuous improvement of care and services, including safe delivery that meets the needs of various clienteles, efficient use of resources, impelementation of best pratices and performance and quality management. The incumbent must build close ties with the infection prevention sector to establish mechanisms that ensure patient safety and infection control. The incumbent must also establish and build productive working relationships with clients, suppliers and partners.

The incumbent ensures that the department complies with legislation, accreditation standards and the Network’s standards and policies. The incumbent actively participates in regional initiatives involving environmental services delivery and/or the Network’s strategic plan.

The incumbent is required to manage employees who are physically working in different hospitals in their area.  As such, the person will need to travel within their region or the network territory as part of their duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree in administration or a field relevant to the position;
  • Graduate degree in administration or management considered an asset;
  • Five years’ relevant management experience;
  • Experience in supervision/managing staff and strong coaching skills;
  • Innovative and collaborative management style;
  • Ability to mobilize, engage, and act as a change agent;
  • Proficiency in French and functional knowledge of English;
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in common computer tools (Microsoft 365, Meditech);
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network’s management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with Vitalité Health Network’s confidentiality rules.
