JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Primary Health Care, the incumbent of the position of Manager of Primary Health Care Development, Practice Support and Optimization will oversee the development, planning and continuous improvement of all activities of the Network's primary health care services. Will be responsible for managing various programs as well as human, financial and material resources. Will ensure that tools are in place to support the employees that they supervise.  Will have important project management tasks related to the sector's priorities, including providing practice support for interdisciplinary community teams and optimizing the use of community services.

Main activities: The incumbent will work to develop primary health care and act as a consultant for services delivered based on an accessible primary health care model. Will be assigned various mandates in response to operational needs, such as responsibility for developing and implementing services/processes based on the needs in the sector, the Network and the province. Will oversee the standardization and updating of practices and processes and will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the sector's quality and patient safety as well as for participating in the development and maintenance of a performance management process and accountability structure. Will continuously evaluate training needs and how to meet them. In addition, will participate in various regional and local committees and play a strategic role in the research component.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline;
  • A master's degree in health care is an asset;
  • Training in health care management or organizational leadership is an asset;
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a health care management position;
  • Eight to ten years’ experience in the health field;
  • Proven knowledge and experience in primary health care;
  • Experience supervising and managing staff and strong coaching skills;
  • Knowledge and experience in program development and implementation;
  • Member of a professional association;
  • Excellent leadership, high level of initiative and sound judgment;
  • Strategic-thinking skills and innovative, collaborative and visionary management style;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities among multiple tasks;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ease forging internal and external partnerships thanks to their knowledge of the field and ability to bring people together;
  • Ability to function with ease in a changing environment and strong aptitude for implementing change management strategies;
  • Extensive experience managing human, material and financial resources and information in general;
  • Ability to achieve results, whether directly or through teamwork;
  • Ability to use the computer tools belonging to the health network;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Regional role, willingness to travel within the Network’s territory and provincially;
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network’s management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to Vitalité Health Network’s confidentiality rules.
