The Opportunity

The Director of Strategic Pricing is responsible for the development and execution of a pricing strategy that maximises the Wajax value proposition in terms of gross profit. The Director of Strategic Pricing leads a team of pricing analysts and administrators that collaborate closely with operations, sales and category management teams to proactively maximise profitability while driving revenue growth with a competitive strategy aligned with the organizations purpose and values

The Role

    • Responsible for the development of a national pricing platform within Wajax and the alignment of pricing strategy across the business.
    • Drive cultural change through the organization to gain acceptance and confidence in a system created, market based, competitive list price for parts.
    • Collaborates closely with stakeholders including category management, branch operations and sales team to understand the competitive scenarios and provide pricing expertise by category that supports the company’s value proposition and business priorities.
    • Collaborates with the Marketing team to understand opportunities to optimize price by key market segment and customer type.
    • Develops and implements pricing processes and tools across the business that support a pro-active approach to maximizing margin.
    • Develops the team to ensure they can proactively support the business.
    • Develops expertise and implements a technology (AI and ML) based approach to pricing.
    • Effective communication of pricing strategies and rationale to key stakeholder groups.
    • Builds strong working relationships across the business through effective collaboration.
    • Fosters a team-based culture focused on accountability to deliver results by building a strong and cohesive team that works across functions.

    The Candidate

    Education: University Degree or College Qualification

    Work Experience: 7 - 10 years

    Proficiency: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
