The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region. M inimum Requirements:

Hold a current Certificate of Qualification with the Ontario College of Teachers (In good standing)

Completion of Part 1 of the Ontario Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP) and completion of Part 2 of the PQP or commitment to complete Part 2 by date of assignment (September 2025)

Hold Religious Education Certificate, Part I or a Letter of Equivalency from OECTA Provincial/OCSTA

Five years of teaching experience

Demonstrated successful experience as a Vice-Principal

Catholic in good standing with a Pastoral reference

Have developed a professional portfolio tied to the Catholic School Level Leadership Framework that demonstrates a transformation of lifelong learning experience(s) to teaching and learning practices. Catholic School Level Leadership Framework

Desirable Assets:

A Masters’ degree

Evidence of a clear understanding of the purpose and nature of leadership experiences in a Catholic School and in a variety of other settings

A good knowledge of special education policies and procedures.

How to Build the Professional Portfolio

Reference the Catholic School Level Leadership Framework and the MYSP and provide the following:

Up to 2 pages for each Catholic School Level Leadership domain describing your leadership work and experience as it directly relates to each domain (ensure your descriptions illustrate school and/or board level leadership)

Examples can be both formal (vice-principal) and informal (organized liturgies)

Artifacts (photos, presentation link, certificate, memos, etc.) to support your written descriptions (approximately 2-5 artifacts per domain)

A Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate.

Minimum of two professional references

It is preferable that one reference is from your current supervisor. If a reference from your current supervisor cannot be provided, please indicate why. Additional references are welcome, including from community work.

Teacher Performance Appraisal: (TPA) completed within the past three years.

If a TPA has not been completed within the past three years, a letter of support from the principal mentor will be accepted.

Upload your “good standing” OCT Certification (OCT number) from OCT website.

NOTE : If you are enrolled and your OCT certificate is not reflecting your current enrollment, please upload proof of enrollment for the following:

Proof of enrollment in or completion of the Principal’s Qualification Program Part One (placement pending successful completion of PQP Part One).

Proof of enrollment in or completion of Religious Education Certificate, Part 1.
