POSITION: Clinical Director

PROGRAM: Management

RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director

STATUS: 1.0 EFT Permanent

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is part of the NorWest Co-op Community Health Management Team and will provide direct supervisory support and oversight to the clinicians and counsellors that work across programs at NorWest Co-op Community Health.
The clinical director arranges and conducts one-on-one meetings with counsellors/clinicians and leads supervision groups to facilitate case consultations and address recurring themes and challenges encountered in interactions with clients.
In addition, the clinical director evaluates cases, assists counsellors/clinicians in overcoming obstacles in their client work, provides guidance on ethical dilemmas, aids in decision-making regarding appropriate interventions, and monitors the effectiveness of therapist-client relationships. Their role also involves upholding professional standards across the clinic including ensuring that counsellors/clinicians are up-to-date on college registration as well as professional development. The clinical director will be responsible for arranging clinical training across the organization.
Furthermore, the clinical director contributes to the development and revision of practice guidelines and policies, participates in decisions regarding program implementation, and remains available for counselors' immediate consultations on urgent or time-sensitive matters.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree required (Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other related disciplines)
• Experience supervising and/or coaching others in evidence-based models
• Experience working within a research and evaluation framework

• Certified in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Brainspotting, or EMDR an
asset
• Certified Canadian High Fidelity Wraparound Facilitator, Coach, and/or Trainer an asset
• Minimum four years of experience working with clients with complex needs
• Knowledge of The Child and Family Services Act, The Mental Health Act, and other applicable Acts
• Knowledge of child welfare, child and family services, justice and education systems of Manitoba
• Demonstrated competence in risk and clinical assessment
• Extensive knowledge of community resources
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing an asset
• Knowledge of crisis intervention and harm reduction principles
• Ability to work independently and demonstrated decision making abilities
• Awareness of, and sensitivity to, issues of cultural diversity and colonialism
• Ability to work with in a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work flexible hours required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
• Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Records Check required as well as license with applicable professional college

$44.46 - $56.21 hourly salary
