Position Overview

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the incumbent is responsible for practicing as a member of the Home Hemodialysis Nursing team, utilizing nursing process in the assessment, care and teaching of Home Hemodialysis patient at SOGH, a community facility or in the patient home.

Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years in Nephrology Nursing required.
  • Evidence of clinical expertise in Hemodialysis required.
  • Previous teaching experience an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Manitoba Nephrology Nursing course required (MNNC).
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Nurses Association Nephrology certification is preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current C.R.N.M. registration required.
  • CNA Certification in Nephrology Nursing preferred.
  • Valid Manitoba driver's licensce required.
  • Incumbent must hold a valid Manitoba driver's license , provide own transportation and be free to travel throughout Manitoba.

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

Physical Requirements
  • May be required to occasionally work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Will be required to go into patient homes for teaching and assessments.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
