Job Profile:

Lions Housing Centres Inc. is recruiting a Recreational Facilitator within our Charleswood Adult Day Club. This position is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of recreational activities aimed at enhancing the physical, emotional, and social well-being of day club participants. This position reports to the Recreation Manager or designate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize and facilitate recreation activities that promote the overall quality of life for participants.
  • Develop and maintain a recreation schedule tailored to meet the identified needs of the participants.
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations to assess program effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the creation of monthly calendars and highlight special events.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to residents, staff and facility operations
  • Practices in a manner that supports the Respectful Workplace Policy, the Resident Bill of Rights, and Lions Housing Centres Inc. Mission, Vision and Values
  • Participates in mandatory training/annual education required by employment legislations and the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff as required.
  • Adheres to and implements company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Your education and qualifications:

  • Completion of the Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant experience working with the senior population
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
  • Proven group facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Strong teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Physical and mental capacity to perform all job responsibilities.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
