JOB SUMMARY:
The position will promote the Mission of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate by supporting the care values regarding the provision of quality care, loving environment, Christian ideals and principles, respect for life and dignity of person, and preservation of our traditional ethnic customs. Participate in the provision of a comprehensive, integrated and continuous program of care and treatment, being uniquely sensitive to the psycho-social functioning of the resident.
The social worker is responsible to coordinate resident admissions to the facility ensuring appropriate case mix within the resident unit. Participate in resident care planning, organize care conferences with the interdisciplinary team including family and take a lead role in resident behavior management. Lead the interdisciplinary team in care planning, which includes developing resident social histories and assessments. On a daily basis the social worker will identify and respond to resident and family concerns, and assist in the resolution of problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a graduate of a recognized School of Social Work with a minimum of a Bachelor of Social Work degree.
- Membership in Manitoba College of Social Workers. is preferred.
- Preferably one year experience in related field.
- Possess good written and oral communication skills in English. A knowledge of Ukrainian/Polish language is an asset.
- Possess the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff and students.
- Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary team is an asset.
- Good mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position.
- All immunizations are up to date
- Current criminal record check, adult and child abuse registry checks
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated
