Under the general direction of the Manager Allied Health and the Manager, Health Services, the incumbent is responsible for providing quality Speech-Language Pathology services, consistent with discipline and professional standards, including: prevention, identification, evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, counseling, treatment, management and education of communication and swallowing disorders; education and supervision of students and professionals; consultation with and referral to other professionals; and research. Maintains professional accountability, professional judgment and reasoning with a high-level of communication and collaboration. Quality client care is supported through continuing professional development, research, quality improvement and promotion of Speech-Language Pathology.
The Speech-Language Pathologist demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region and Riverview Health Centre.

- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited/recognized university is required.
- Must be registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM). Membership in other professional organizations is encouraged; for example, Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
- Knowledge of principles of Speech Language Pathology
- Knowledge of relevant Workplace Safety and Health responsibilities.
