Invites applications for the position of:
CUPE 2331 Supply Library Technician
$ 32.28 per hour
Position Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the School Principal and in collaboration with the Teacher-Librarian of the school, the Supply Library Technician organizes and maintains library materials, manages library systems and equipment, and ensures smooth library operations for students and staff.
Major Responsibilities:- Assist students and staff with using library resources and specialized equipment and ready reference questions; assist students and staff in use of On-line databases and resources.
- Assist in book exchange procedures.
- Maintain consistency of order, rules, and protocols of proper usage of library as established by the Teacher-Librarian and School Principal.
- Collection Management, Technical, Equipment, Acquisitions, and Clerical duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school graduation plus a 2 year post secondary diploma or equivalent.
- Diploma in Library and Information Technician.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience is required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Have good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of computer literacy in circulation and cataloguing.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Show initiative and adaptability.
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands.
- Ability to work with a team.
